Acceptable Use Policy

Prohibited content

You may not post, link to, or host:

• Hate speech targeting people by race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
• Threats of violence or content that incites it.
• Sexual content, and in particular any content sexualising minors.
• Personal information about anyone without their consent.
• Content that infringes someone else's trademark or copyright.
• Malicious links, phishing pages, or malware.

Prohibited conduct

• Creating multiple accounts, or using someone else's account.
• Coordinating accounts to inflate activity or manufacture the appearance of competition.
• Using stolen or unauthorised payment instruments.
• Automated or scripted access to the API or site beyond ordinary use.
• Probing, scanning, or attempting to breach our systems or other users' accounts.
• Reselling, transferring, or claiming to transfer a position outside the platform.

Your promotion

Holding a position lets you display a tagline and links to your website and social accounts. This is advertising, and it is the most visible surface on the site, so it carries the strictest rules.

• Promote only something you are entitled to promote. Do not present someone else's brand, product or account as yours.
• Do not claim to be KnockMeOff, or to be endorsed by, affiliated with or acting for us.
• Links must lead where they appear to lead. No cloaking, no redirect chains to different content, no bait.
• No links to malware, phishing, scams, or content prohibited elsewhere in this policy.
• No links to adult content, or to anything that is unlawful in the places our users are.

External links

Where the product allows a link, it must be a plain HTTPS URL to a public site. We reject JavaScript URLs, other non-HTTP schemes, private-network and loopback addresses, and links flagged by our screening.

All outbound links from a promotion are marked `nofollow ugc`. A position promotes you to people, not to search engines, and buying one confers no search-ranking benefit.

We may remove a tagline or a link at any time without removing your position. You keep the rank you paid for; the offending content goes.

Consequences

Depending on severity we remove content, release positions, suspend the account, or close it permanently. Fraudulent payment activity results in immediate suspension and referral to the payment processor.
